Summary
BiH institutions still fully rely on ICMP’s support. Thus, the project aims to provide highly needed continuous technical assistance in all excavations, examinations and re-association of recovered mortal remains, in DNA sampling, and testing and matching of biological samples from living relatives and victims for 3 years project period. Having in mind high sensitivity, It is also designed to gradually strengthen domestic ownership of the processes, provide direct assistance to the Agency for Forensic Examination and Expertise (Ministry of Security) in the area of reduction the number of missing persons cases and in ensuring the continuity of the action. This project is designed to directly support BIH’s efforts in processing war crimes and in reducing the number of missing persons cases and ensuring the continuity in resolving those cases. Furthermore, the action is the most of all intended to increase domestic ownership of processes and performing forensic analysis.
