Summary
The purpose of the project is as follows: - Reduction of the risks to human and animal health, to environment, as well as increasing the economic potential of BiH. This project will also improve the ability of BiH to provide accurate statistical data on animal funds, as required by the EU. - Harmonised approach to the management of animal by-products across Bosnia and Herzegovina with feasibility study. Results
Implementation of this project resulted in: - Animal By-products and Animal Waste Management Strategy for BiH (1st January 2019 to 31st December 2023), drafted and ready for adoption by the competent authorities of BiH with follow up activities for implementation of the Strategy defined (Overall Action Plan). The Overall AP covers responsibilities of all competent institutions in BiH, for the wide strategy priorities in the timeframe covered. This Action Plan is accompanied with four detailed implementation Action Plans, depending on all relevant budgets in BiH as follows: responsible BiH institutions, Federation of BiH and cantons, Republika Srpska and Brcko district BiH - Feasibility study for ABP/AW management drafted through comprehensive process with beneficiaries, which included complex analyses of management model, financial aspects, technological analysis, location analysis, transport routes, transportation means and collection networks, environmental, construction and architectural aspects of the construction of a facility for safe disposal of ABP/AW.
